PLSS of Franklin County, Alabama
A grid of lines parsed at 6 mile intervals zones extend north-south and east-west of the principal meridians and baselines. These north-south zones are called townships and the east-west zones are called ranges. The plot formed by these 6X6 grids is also called a township. Townships are subdivided into 35 Sections of one square mile in area.
