A Statistical Map conveys distance between real-world geographical locations based upon a calculated value. For instance, the darkest green on this map represents 16 minutes or less travel time to work. The dark maroon color represents over 26 minutes. Perhaps New York and California travel time to work is the longest because they are more apt to use public transportation.
